“This October, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell will be playing in his third ODI World Cup. He is one of the seven players in Australia’s preliminary squad for the upcoming tournament who also participated in the 2015 edition when the Australian team secured its fifth world title. During that successful campaign, Maxwell emerged as the third-highest run-scorer for the winning side, amassing 324 runs at an average of 64.80, along with a remarkable strike rate of 182.02.
Going down as a memorable performance from Maxwell’s One-Day International career is him scoring 102 against Sri Lanka in Sydney in 2015. This was also his maiden century for Australia in the ODIs. He scored the century in just 51 deliveries, marking the second-fastest century in the tournament’s history.
On a personal note, in 2022, Maxwell tied the knot with his long-time partner, Vini Raman, in a traditional Indian wedding ceremony held in Chennai. This came after the couple had already officially exchanged their vows in Australia a week prior.”
