The Kia Syros is all set to make its debut on February 1. It marks the brand’s second compact SUV, highlighting the significance of this highly competitive segment. Ahead of its official launch, Kia has already revealed the ARAI-certified mileage figures for the new SUV. The Syros will compete against Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet and the upcoming Skoda Kylaq.
Kia Syros: Engines and Mileage
Kia has confirmed that the new Syros will offer two engine options — a 1-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1-litre turbo petrol engine produces 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to ARAI, the manual version delivers 18.20 kmpl, while the DCT returns 17.68 kmpl.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It comes with two gearbox options — a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The manual version offers a fuel efficiency of 20.75 kmpl, while the automatic returns 17.65 kmpl.

Kia Syros: Features
The Kia Syros comes loaded with several segment-first features, including six parking sensors (with side sensors), flush door handles, and a 30-inch display setup that integrates the infotainment system, driver’s instrument cluster, and virtual climate control switches. It also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. One of its standout features is the highly versatile rear bench, which can recline, slide, and is split 60:40. While the rear seat squab is ventilated, the backrest lacks this feature. The Syros also boasts a 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat for added comfort.
In terms of safety and technology, the Syros is equipped with radar-based Level 2 ADAS, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), multiple driving modes, a built-in dash cam, and disc brakes on all four wheels. It also offers six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and hill-hold assist for added peace of mind.
